Your job search on your Home Screen
Unofficial widgets for iPhone and iPad that put your jobwyre board on your Home Screen, in light and dark mode. More widgets are on the way.
Build your widget
Choose which jobs to show, name it, and preview it in all four sizes (extra large is iPad only) and in light and dark mode. Then download the script. Each type of widget (To apply, Applied, Interviews and so on) is a separate script: build and download one per widget, name each in Scriptable after what it shows, and add each to your Home Screen.
Light and dark mode are adaptive. The widget follows your device's current appearance automatically, so there is nothing extra to configure. A single script adapts to your iPhone or iPad and to whichever widget size you pick.

Get the Scriptable app
Widgets run inside Scriptable, a free scripting app for iPhone and iPad.
Scriptable
iPhone and iPad
A free scripting app that runs the widget on your Home Screen.
Get Scriptable on the App Store (opens the App Store)
Set up with Scriptable
Install Scriptable
Get Scriptable from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
Download your script
Use the builder above: pick what to show, then press the download button. If you are signed in, your API key is already inside the file. If not, the script asks for your key the first time you run it; copy it from Dashboard, API.
Add it to Scriptable
Open Scriptable and tap the plus button for a new script. Paste the whole contents of the downloaded file, name it after what it shows (for example jobwyre Applied) and let it save. Each widget type needs its own script, so repeat this step for every script you download. Tap the play button once to preview it. If you were not signed in when you downloaded, it asks for your API key now and remembers it on this device.
Add it to your Home Screen
Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen, tap the plus button, choose Scriptable, pick a size (small, medium, large, or extra large, which is iPad only) and tap Add Widget.
Pick your script
Touch and hold the new widget, choose Edit Widget, set Script to your jobwyre script and leave When Interacting on Open App or Run Script. The widget updates right away.
Keep your key safe
A script downloaded while signed in contains your live API key, so treat the file like a password and do not share it or post it online. If it ever leaks, use Regenerate on the API page; the old key stops working immediately and you can download a fresh script.
Something not working?
My widget says there is no API key.
Fix: Run the script once inside Scriptable (tap play) and enter your API key when asked, or set your key as the widget's Parameter (Edit Widget).
My widget shows an error or no jobs.
Fix: Check that your key is current. If you regenerated it, download a fresh script while signed in (or run it in Scriptable and enter the new key), because the old key stops working immediately. Also check that the device is online.
A change is missing from my widget.
Fix: iOS controls refresh timing and can take 15 minutes to a few hours. Open Scriptable and run the script to see the latest list at once.
How do I use a different account on the same device?
Fix: Add a second widget and set its Parameter to the other person's API key. A Parameter always overrides the key inside the script.

Widgets on every plan
Widgets only read your board through the jobwyre API, so they are available on every plan, including Free. Each time a widget refreshes it counts as one API read. Reads are counted per day and share one allowance with your other API calls and connected AI assistants, and the allowance depends on your plan. See the plans for everything each one includes.
| Plan | API reads per day |
|---|---|
| free | 250 |
| pro | 500 |
| max | Unlimited |
Each widget on your Home Screen is its own script, so every widget makes its own read when it refreshes. iOS decides how often that is, and at best it is about every 15 minutes, which is up to 96 reads a day for one widget. Several widgets add up, so on Free (250 a day) two or three widgets fit even at that fastest rate, and in practice iOS refreshes less often. If you reach the limit, a widget shows an error until the count resets.
